Official Team Photo Day!

Mark your calendars, the official Fun Sport Bike Cycling Team photo will be taken on Sunday, February 24th at 9am at the location of our title sponsor, Fun Sport Bikes in Modesto. We’ve taken the race calendar into consideration and tried to pick a day and give enough notice so that we have a large turnout. We are doing it early in the day because the parking fills up in front of the shop later in the afternoon. Please arrive on time.

A photo of the newly formed FSB Race Squad and head shots for the website will be taken on this day as well. In addition, a photo of the FSB Women’s Development Squad will be taken, which will eliminate the need for a separate photo shoot like we did last year.  Wear the NEW kit! If you are new, you’ll need to borrow one as we’ve done in past years. We don’t want a mix of old and new kits.

The Sunday shop ride that is usually scheduled for 2:30 will be moved, and will depart from the shop after the photo shoot is complete. If the route changes for this day, Joey will post a revised route prior to the ride.

Used Cycling Gear Drive

NorCal High School Cycling LeagueThe FSB Cycling Team will be participating in a used cycling gear drive through February 1, 2013 to help benefit the Nor Cal High School MTB League (http://www.norcalmtb.org/).  We are accepting donations of used cycling gear, road and mountain:  old kits, clothing, helmets, shoes, and bike parts. The Nor Cal MTB League is based in Petaluma but have teams all over Northern CA.  They expect to see a 35% growth in the league this year and can really put used gear to good use.  There are a high number of kids on scholarship who are not financially able to properly outfit themselves.  Items can be dropped off at the Wednesday Night Crit practice (check the calendar page for info) or a drop off can be arranged by sending a message using the contact form on this site.  Thanks for your help!

October 20th Ride for Members & Those Who’d Like to Join the Club!

The club’s Membership Director will be leading the “Vrieling Loop” ride this coming Saturday, October 20th.  He’s been riding this route for the last 10 years and somewhere along the way it ended up being named after him.  This is a flat 48 mile loop leaving O’Brien’s Market at the corner of Pelandale/Dale leaving at 8am.  An extension is available for those wanting more miles.  This will be a no drop, conversational, winter pace ride and hopefully another chance to allow potential new members to ride with club.  Anyone who would like to turn in a membership application can also give it to me at the start/finish.  We’ll bring a few copies along just in case.  If you know of anyone who is considering joining the club please feel free to invite/bring them to the ride.  Should be a great morning to ride!
