SPONSOR SPOTLIGHT: Androgenics

Androgenics Inc., “Where the Bull Comes First”, is based in Oakdale and is owned by Mike Miller, a long time member, racer and past CdV Board Member. Androgenics (http://www.androgenicsinc.com/) is committed to providing the best genetic product with superior genomic values. You can contact them at 209.847.1101. Almost everyone knows Mike and has ridden or raced with him over the years. He’s a very strong rider, great teammate and kind to all. Mike has been a sponsor and supporter of the team for many years and this year increased that support level and became a tertiary level sponsor, moving from a pocket position on the jersey, to both side panels. We appreciate his continued support and are happy he’s a part of this growing team. Thank you!

SPONSOR SPOTLIGHT: Next Level Performance by RDV

Many of you got the chance to meet and ride with Rich Del Valle for the first time at yesterday’s team photo event. Not only is he a returning FSB team member and Cat 1 racer, he also a returning team sponsor, cycling coach and owner of Next Level Performance by RDV. If you were there at the end of yesterday’s ride, when Rich flew off the front solo into the headwind shattering the field, you got a glimpse of Rich in action! He has close to 30 years of racing experience and a resume filled with impressive wins and finishes, including 1st place last year at both the Cat’s Hill Classic and the Copperopolis Road Race. We are fortunate to have him on the team once again this year representing FSB. Rich is the personal coach of many racers on the team. He is experienced, comes highly recommended by those who use his services, is well respected both on and off the bike and is one of the nicest guys you’ll meet. Thank you for being a sponsor, teammate and sharing your talent and knowledge with the team! Contact Coach RDV by email at coachrdv@comcast.net or by phone at 408-655-5738.

Great Turnout for the Team Photo Day & Ride!

2016 Funsport Bikes Cycling Team

Thank you again to everyone who showed up for yesterday’s 2016 Team Photo, we had a record turnout of nearly 70%. We appreciate everyone that made the effort and was able to come out, represent and thank our sponsors and show their support for the team.  There were many members who traveled quite a distance to join us for what is always the biggest team ride of the year, from as far away as Folsom, Dorrington, Murphys, Merced and San Jose. Special thanks to Ray Prevost for once again volunteering his time and talents to the club and capturing this year’s team on camera. The 75 mile ride after the photo shoot was also a success and well attended – a safe, spirited ride with sunny skies and no rain. We even had a few guests join us and it sounded like everyone got in an excellent training ride. The team rode well and looked great out there. 2016 is going to be another excellent year!

Membership Meeting Feb. 3 at Surla’s

Our next membership meeting is coming up on Wednesday, February 3rd at Surla’s Restaurant in downtown Modesto.  The focus will be on the upcoming Turlock Lake Road Race, our 2nd team clothing order with JL Velo which opens soon, and much more.  Also…the RAFFLE will return with some cool prizes, including wine and gift cards.  If you haven’t picked up your kit, we’ll have all of the extra clothing as well as the socks, which can be purchased that night too. We’re hoping to have the new hat order ready to go as well and have info on the NEW team water bottles (better quality and no leaks). And finally, if you know someone who is interested in joining the team, invite them to the meeting and let them know that now is the perfect time to join since they’ll be able to get in on the next clothing order and still race and ride in the new kit.   Come early and grab a drink at the bar before the 6pm meeting. Hope to see you all there!

Team Photo Day Jan. 30

This coming Saturday, January 30th at 8am, is our annual all team photo day. Meet in front on Funsport Bikes in McHenry Village, just as in year’s past.  Please be on time and wear only the new 2016 kit.  Doug Vrieling will be leading a team ride immediately following the photo shoot, approximately 75 miles, with many options to shorten the route if you’d like a shorter ride. Thanks to Ray Prevost for once again being our team photographer. See you there!

Snelling/TLRR Pre-Ride on Jan. 24

Passing along the info for this Sunday’s Snelling/TLRR Pre-Ride. Many area race teams will be there and it is always well attended. This is not a CdV/FSB organized ride, but many team members will be there.

The TLRR & Snelling Pre-Ride will be Sunday, January 24th. The ride will leave Henderson Park in Snelling at 8:00am. Complete one lap of Turlock Lake RR course & 2 laps of Snelling RR loop. 60 Miles. Pace will be based on group, the last few years it was conversation pace for the first 30 minutes before pack accelerated. Many outs and option to do less laps for lesser miles.
